According to the Associated Press (in a piece written by Andrew Miga — which can be found here):

Undercover government investigators purchased sensitive surplus military equipment such as launcher mounts for shoulder-fired missiles and guided missile radar test sets from a Defense Department contractor.

Much of the equipment could be useful to terrorists.

Now, I’m sure the Dumbocrat liberals will be all over this as soon as they wake up, but let me say this right now: this is good. It demonstrates two very important things.

1. Capitalism works — someone has a product that someone else wants — they buy it for the asking price (basic supply and demand); and

2. We will probably have terrorists with cool equipment to fight well into the foreseeable future (like in an episode 24!). Reagan and several presidents before him had Communism to be crazy-eyed about, which was good for a long time as a way to get the people to willingly feed the hungry mouth of the military-industrial complex. But then Russia collapsed — and who in their right might is afraid of Cuba or the Sandinistas (now out of power, anyway)? But then President Bush stepped up to the plate and declared a “war on terror,” and heck, there’s always some mad bomber willing to do some damage — now we really do have an enemy which can never be beaten. Yes, where other presidents failed, George W. Bush has succeeded. I, for one, am proud as the mother of a spelling bee winner, or the slightly creepy father of a beauty pageant winner — or maybe the owner of a pure-bred dog with papers which always gets compliments while on its poop walks. Something like that.

Now I’m sure the Dumbocrats will try to spin this into a bad thing — but from where I’m standing, there are two positive results, and not a negative one in sight.
